São Jorge Castle, a place steeped in history, around 20 minutes from the hotel by Metro. Green Line
The castle, built by the Muslims in the mid-19th century, was the last bastion of defence for the elite who lived in the citadel including the Moorish mayor, whose palace was nearby, and the city's administrative leaders whose homes are still visible today on the archaeological site. In addition, the castle sits atop the highest hill in Lisbon, and thus offers the most panoramic view of the city. The view alone makes the castle worth a visit.
